The Keeper 2 in. x 20 ft. Stainless Steel Gunwale Tie-Down is constructed with stainless steel, giving it the durability to withstand demanding fresh and saltwater elements. What is a gunwale tie-down? Also called a gunwale strap or boat hold-down strap, it holds the boat down on the trailer and restricts vertical movement while towing. Gunwale tie-downs are a critical component when attaching a boat to the trailer. This tie-down features two full-size S-hooks with spring-loaded safety clips that help keep the hooks attached, plus an over-center buckle for tightening. The strap is designed to restrict the amount of vertical movement during transportation. It has a 500 lb. working load limit and a 1,500 lb. break strength. Pair it with Keeper transom tie-downs and a bow safety strap for complete securement. This tie-down is sold individually. Inspect the strap and hardware before each use and never exceed the rated working load limit.
