What are transom tie-downs used for? Transom straps secure the stern of the boat to the trailer and restrict vertical movement during transport. Transom tie-downs are a critical component when attaching a boat to the trailer. Each strap features two full-size S-hooks with spring-loaded safety clips that help keep the hooks attached, plus an over-center buckle to tighten. The straps are designed to restrict the amount of vertical movement during transportation. Each individual tie-down has a 500 lb. working load limit and a 1,500 lb. break strength. This pack includes two stainless steel transom tie-downs. Inspect straps before each use and never exceed the working load limit.
